December will be the Pot Luck

I have no pics from the November meeting - I was away at a quilting retreat enjoying some fellowship and sewing with my longarm buddies.  The guest speaker was Kathleen O'Flaherty of Quilts & Shenanigans.  You can find her page on Facebook.

December 11th at 6 pm will be our Pot Luck Supper.
Note the earlier time!!  
If you cannot make it for dinner, our regular meeting will commence at 7 pm, as usual.

Please bring:

• food contribution
• your own plates/glasses/mugs/cutlery
• don't forget the Jelly Roll Challenge which is due this month
• your squares if you are in the fabric swap
• your block(s) if you are playing along with the Block of the Month
• a donation for the Food Bank.  Canned goods, pasta, rice, sugar, etc. (check expiry dates).  Other items that needed are toques, scarves, mitts, socks (not tube socks they don't keep feet warm), toothbrushes, combs, underwear, toothpaste, soap, carrybags, shampoo, pillowcases, little zipper pouches, children's & adults new clothing items, etc.

The October Trunk Show, and November DATE CHANGE!!

THE NOVEMBER MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY NOV. 6TH.
The Church ladies are using the hall on our normal meeting date to prepare for the Holiday House Tour.  Most years we have our meeting a week early.

Wednesday Oct. 9th

Join us at 7 pm for a trunk show by Terry Anderson, from Potter's Creek Longarm Quilting in Norfolk.

Did you miss our first meeting in September?  This year we're swapping 5" squares - the contact is Susan Sholer for more info.

• your nametag 
• your coffee mug for break
• completed projects for Show 'n Share
• money for draw tickets if you feel lucky
• money to either pay your membership (if you haven't already) or $7.00 if you want to come as a visitor

New Season Info

The new season starts Wednesday Sept. 11th.

Meeting begins at 7 pm.  See the sidebar for location info.

Please arrive early so you have time to pay the annual membership fee of $50.00.  All programs & swaps will be introduced at that time.

JUNE 12 - POT LUCK

We will end our current season with a pot luck supper on Wednesday June 12th.  Supper will start at 6:00 so come a bit early to get your dish(es) set up.

At our next meeting on WEDNESDAY MAY 8/19 we are hosting Claudia Schumm from Fabric Please.  Claudia will be doing a trunk show, as well as bringing product for sale.  Bring $$$.

ANOTHER Change of Plans For Feb. 13th...well ok - it's a cancellation

Yes, here we are, another cancellation.  NO MEETING TONIGHT.
For your entertainment, here is a shot of my back patio last night.  Since then we've had an inch or so of snow added on top of the ice.

The next chance for us to get together will be:
SCRAPPY CLUB, Feb. 25th
EXTRA UFO DAY, Feb. 27th

Next regular meeting will be March 13th for BINGO NIGHT.  We will also have the pincushion swap that night (which was supposed to be tonight).

slight change of plans for February 13th meeting

Due to an unexpected event, Bernadette is unable to attend with her trunk show.  Instead, Helen Hubert will be presenting a small trunk show and a lesson on Trapunto quilting.

January - Member Quilts

January is such an IFFY month - the Program committee cannot depend on having decent weather, so it's rare that we'd have a guest speaker.  Tonight the members were asked to bring quilts they have made using "winnings" of some sort.  Winnings from the Block of the Month, or off the Draw Table, Fabric Swaps or...?

And Shirley, bless her heart, always has some interesting techniques to share with us.  Tonight she did a short demo on String Quilts that are made with foundation piecing:
