Pics from September and Info for Wednesday Oct. 8th

Pics from the September meeting.  Show 'n Share never disappoints!

Program for the meeting:

That was a great local exhibit at the museum!

October 8th - meeting starts at 7 pm.  If you like, come at noon and stitch with the ladies until the meeting ($5 fee to cover the additional rent).  Several of us usually have dinner together instead of going home in between - please join us!

Program speaker will be Pat Flood from the Grand River Quilt Project.  Come and find out what that's all about.

REMEMBER TO BRING:

  • Show 'n Share - I suspect we'll see lots of winners from the Caledonia Fair!
  • change for the draw
  • wear your name tag
  • bring a coffee mug for 'social' to save dishwashing
  • items for the Give & Take table
Advance warning about next month:  the meeting DATE will change to Wednesday Nov. 5th because of a conflict with the church.

New Season Starts Wednesday September 10th

Yum - come and fill your plate with a POT LUCK DINNER to welcome our new season.

Dinner starts at 6 pm, so arrive a little early.  Please bring:

  • a food contribution
  • your plate, cutlery, mug

If you can't join us for dinner, the meeting will start at 7 pm - again, arrive a little early.  You'll need to pay EITHER a $10 visitor fee OR a $60 membership fee.

If you are just checking us out and pay the $10 visitor fee, that will be put towards a membership if you decide to join the group.

Membership benefits include a whole year's worth of meetings, the monthly newsletter to keep you informed of all the goings-on, access to the (extensive!) guild library of quilt books, ability to join the smaller groups that work on quilt projects or swap fabrics/blocks, etc., a regular 'bring & take' table for items we no longer love or have a use for (lots of great stuff can be found here!).  The best thing of all is a whole bunch of people who love sewing & quilting just as much as you do. 💕

Season Wrap-up In June With A Pot Luck & Penny Sale

We finished off the season with our traditional pot luck supper.  Excellent food!

Followed by a Penny Sale.  Many many thanks to Sharon for doing a wonderful job of acquiring all the wonderful prizes and setting up all the items.

I managed to win a set of blocks!  Woo hoo!

We're on a summer hiatus until our first meeting of the new season - Wednesday Sept. 10th.

IF ANY MEMBER WANTS TO ORGANIZE A SEWING DAY...

  • Arrange for minimum 8 people at $10 each
  • call the secretary at the church to confirm your requested date
  • pay the church our usual rental fee $100.00
  • the guild will cover the $20 shortfall if you can't find 10 people - contact treasurer Janice for details
Have a great summer!

May pics & Info for June 11th meeting

The pre-meeting stitchers were hard at work.  All this effort was followed by supper at a local restaurant.

Show & Share is always very inspiring.  What a talented group!

Bonnie presented the evening's program - we learned all about the Gee's Bend Quilts.  Really interesting!

WEDNESDAY JUNE 11TH
This is our season ending meeting - we'll be celebrating with a pot luck supper at 5:30.  Friends, visitors and guests are welcome at no charge. Please everyone remember to bring your food dish to share, along with your plate/cutlery/etc.

The meeting at 7pm will be a very fun PENNY SALE.

Members, please bring your usual items to the meeting - including your name tag and library books to return.
