Guild member, Bonnie Cook, will be doing a presentation on fabric landscapes. She will review basic composition, the rule of thirds and the roles of texture, light and shadow in creating the 3D illusion of depth. We will discuss these principles using some of her landscapes and photographs, watch a 10-minute video, and participate in a demonstration on how to build a simple landscape. Included will be three methods of sewing a landscape.
To fully participate in this presentation, members are asked to bring a magazine, book or some favorite photographs of landscapes and seascapes, to use to illustrate the composition techniques discussed during the hour workshop.
