Next Meeting December 8th

Here are a few pics from show 'n share at our November meeting.

The guest speaker at that meeting was Amanda Brown from Fabric Heart.  Fun gal with a great sense of humour, she provided and trunk show as well as an overhead show.
Temperature quilts are traditionally based on the outdoor thermometer.  Hers is based on her emotional temp during Covid. 😄

At our December meeting Sam Croucher will be demonstrating Ribbon Quilts.  There will be NO POT LUCK this year due to Covid restrictions.  Seating is 6 feet apart, with proof of double vax required for entry.
We have returned to Grace United Church and the meeting will start at 7 pm.  See you there!

October pics & November Guest Speaker

Here's a small selection of the quilts made by our talented members.

On November 10 we'll be hosting Amanda Brown from My Fabric Heart, who will be talking about modern quilts.  You can follow her on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/myfabricheart/

As far as I know, the meeting details will be the same as October - to be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church.

October Meeting Info

The guild will be having an INDOOR meeting on Wednesday October 13th.

The usual (hah, when was the last time anyone said that?) sewing event will take place in the daytime, with the monthly meeting to follow at 7 pm.

LOCATION CHANGE

This meeting will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, NOT Grace United.  This is due to space limitations currently in place at Grace, and we expect those to be lifted some time in the future.

Pics from August

We had a nice crowd of 15 in August.  As the Blogstress AND the blog photographer I'm never in the pics, so I decided to add myself with a little bit (VERY little bit) of technology. 😁

And the most important part of any guild get-together...Thank you Gail! xxo

July Meeting Pics

Well, golly gee - we had a meeting!  Outdoors at the gazebo in Caledonia, and thankfully Mother Nature graced us with nice weather.

Not a lot of "business" was discussed.  However, the fall fair IS going to happen and the guild is hoping to have our normal booth.  If you are willing to organize the booth and volunteers please get in touch with Sharon, our President.

Hopefully our next meeting will happen on  Wednesday August 10th at the same outdoor location, at 1:00 in the afternoon.  Watch the forecast.  Bring your lawn chair, beverage, and show & share.

Another Zoomie Has Come & Gone...

We had another Zoom meeting last week on the 9th.  There was a wee technical issue so it was not very well attended, but for those of us who managed to join in it was an enjoyable visit.

NEXT month, on July 14th, we are HOPING to have an outdoor meeting.  Stay tuned and check your email in the days preceding, ok?  You can't bank on anything yet.  Although I am doing a Snoopy Dance because I got my second shot yesterday. 😁😁😁

Some Guild Eye Candy

These are quilts made by Dineke.  She's been running our block of the month program for a few years and is a ridiculously good hand quilter.

This was the b.o.m. she ran for 2019/2020.

Here's her Goose In The Pond.  I love this block!

This was the b.o.m. from 2018/2019.  I'm really impressed with the modern setting of traditional blocks.  Hand quilted, too!

This is a Dresden Plate - hand appliqued and also hand quilted.  Beautiful.

Welcome to 2021 - still stuck at home

How are y'all doing?  Guild is still on hold for an undetermined amount of time and I guess most of us are still down in our basements - pedal to the metal!  Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we might have a meeting or something some time in 2021.  Vaccines are on their way, so we can only hope.

In the meantime - here's a quilt that was finished by our wonderful librarian Lorraine.  It was a 25th wedding anniversary gift for some friends of hers.

This is one of mine - it was a demo of Four Patch Posy that I presented to another guild in February.  I completed it in the fall.

Charlotte finished this and sent it off out west.

Sharon made this for her niece.

Stay in touch everyone!
